A Survival Training Course for Workers Along
The Andean Ridge of South America

The Andean Ridge Region of Latin America can be a rewarding experience for companies and their employees alike. However, with the advent of organized resistance to and terrorism against current governments in the region, it has become problematic for those same companies to safeguard their employees working in the region.

In addition, the US government is considering mandatory participation in this type of training for companies bidding on contracts in the region. Besides providing employees with the added knowledge and skills in safety, security, and survival, your company will have the added benefit of potentially lowering your insurance rates by participating in this training.

A myriad of incidents, risks and daunting security realities in the region has led to the development of the "Surviving The Andean Ridge" (STAR) training course. Field-tested military and civilian specialists have developed this course based on their expertise in security and counter-terrorism.

Threat Management's proprietary STAR training provides up-to-date techniques and information necessary for those living and working along the Andean Ridge. The goal of the STAR training course is to increase the security and safety awareness level of individuals and their families living and working in the region, helping them to better recognize and avoid compromising safety/security situations, thus decreasing their chances of facing the ultimate survival event--a hostage situation.

Our course provides general information on the political situation, cultural differences, and geography of the area. Language training can be provided as well. Security and safety concerns for day-to-day living will be discussed. Defensive driving and unarmed hand-to-hand combat will be introduced to participants. In addition, basic survival skills for those who may become disoriented and lost in the field, as well as information on how to conduct oneself in a hostage situation are presented. The practical training will expose each participant to current information on actual survival situations and successful evasion techniques to date.

STAR is offered both to your employees expecting to deploy to the Andean Ridge, as well as those currently there. Recurrent or refresher training can be arranged also. We look forward to providing you and your employees the added security, safety, and skills crucial for a successful Andean Ridge contracting experience by providing you:

" The Power of Knowing."
